BSS Team pulls together

To celebrate BSS' 21st Birthday, a Team Building event was organised by Matthew Daniel, involving a trip to Morfa Bay.
The day started at 8:15 with everyone getting together to make the trip to Pendine, ready for a day of team building...but with a slight sense of apprehension as no-one was quite sure what was to be expected. We arrived at the centre at 9:30 in time for a cup of tea before being shipped off to Laugharne for a treasure hunt. The BSS employees were split into 2 teams and scoured Laugharne in search of answers to some very obscure questions.
After lunch, the real fun began! Luckily the weather stayed dry and not too cold, as we were told our first task - to build a free standing structure that would allow us to get a full bucket of water from one side of a stream to another - in twenty minutes! We did succeed, though slightly over the time limit as the conscientious members of the team had tied the rope a bit too well!
Our next task was to get the (still full) bucket of water from one end of a series of obstacles to the other. This included crossing rope bridges, ropes and logs and climbing walls - all with this bucket. Despite the fact that it stayed dry for our time outside, it had been raining for the previous week, and the ground was muddy and very slippery. Most people managed to avoid falling - except for Peter and Sian.
Much to some people's disappointment the majority of the team managed to keep out of the mud and stayed fairly clean. Despite this the day was a success - ending in the pub for a quick pint or two to review the day. Though I'm fairly sure everyone is looking forward to a lie-in next Sunday...
